Hematologist – Danbury, New Milford, Connecticut – 60 Miles from New York City Danbury and New Milford Hospitals, located in Danbury, Connecticut, just 60 minutes north of New York City in Fairfield County, are seeking an academically‑oriented hematologist (both classical and malignant hematology). This position will focus on treating patients with hematologic malignancies and overseeing the evaluation of treatment for patients with classical hematology conditions, with advanced practitioner support. Our Cancer Institute is growing rapidly as we expand our clinical trial portfolio and position ourselves to be a destination cancer program in this region. The ideal candidate will be board certified or eligible in hematology and have post‑fellowship experience and/or hematology‑focused training. There is flexibility to split time between Danbury and New Milford sites.

$50,000 sign‑on bonus/retention package plus relocation allowance is available for full‑time candidates.

Our Chair of the Nuvance Health Cancer Institute, Dr. Adam Boruchov, will be attending the upcoming ASH conference in December in Orlando and will be happy to meet with candidates there.

Danbury Hospital is part of Nuvance Health, which includes seven hospitals and cancer centers throughout western Connecticut and southeastern New York and diagnoses approximately 4,600 new cancer cases each year. Danbury Hospital provides tertiary oncology services and is accredited by the American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. It offers state‑of‑the‑art radiation oncology and surgical specialty services in breast, thoracic, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, genitourinary oncology and hepatobiliary surgery. Nurse navigation, genetic counseling and screening are available onsite. There is ample opportunity to pursue research and clinical trials.

Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not‑for‑profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care. It has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, it is affiliated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine.

Danbury, Connecticut, located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and on the border of New York State, is about 60 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT. As part of the greater NY metropolitan area, the city of Danbury enjoys both proximity to New York City culture and access to a wide variety of venues for outdoor and indoor recreational activities. There are highly rated public and private schools and universities throughout the region. Boston, New York City, New Haven and Hartford are easily accessible via train and car.

Compensation: $475,000–$600,000 per year relative to experience.
