Overview
WBCL isseeking a passionate, visionary, and experienced Program Director with a heartfor ministry and storytelling to lead the station’s on-air sound. This role isvital in shaping the spiritual and cultural tone of WBCL and all mediaplatforms within Taylor University Broadcasting Incorporated, ensuringalignment with our mission while remaining relevant in today’s fast-changingmedia landscape. This role also includes hosting WBCL’s Midday Show. Responsibilities
Oversee theprogramming strategy to ensure content reflects WBCL’s mission, values, andlistener expectations. Overseeon-air talent and production staff to create a dynamic and consistent soundon-air and online. Mentoron-air staff, providing regular feedback, coaching, and development. Work closelywith marketing and development teams to align messaging and campaigns. RepresentWBCL at public and donor events. Ensurecompliance with FCC regulations and broadcast standards. Monitorratings, music and market research, and listener feedback to guide contentdecisions. Hostingregular live air shift, including regularly creating digital media contentrelated to air shift. Controlboard operation, including editing phone bits, interviews and other audio. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degreein Communications or Broadcasting. Knowledgeand experience with broadcast software systems. A minimum of5 years’ experience in radio programming, preferably in a leadership role at aChristian station, with experience managing multiple direct reports. A minimum of5 years’ experience as an air talent. Excellentcommunication, leadership, and organizational skills. Strongunderstanding of radio operations including proficiency in audio editing andprogramming software (e.g., MusicMaster, Adobe Audition). Experiencein programming a network of stations with location-specific content strategies. Deepcommitment to Christian values and the mission of WBCL.
