We are seeking a self-motivated, independent, intellectual, experienced accounting professional to add to our rapidly growing team. In this highly visible and dynamic position, you will partner with finance leadership to build out and establish the controls and accounting function infrastructure required to support business growth and profitability. This includes creating and ensuring the consistent application of accounting-related policies, preparing relevant financial statements and reports including tax statements and coordination of audit activities. This is an office based/remote position based in Dallas, Texas. (a 4/1 hybrid work schedule available).
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction to the corporate accounting and financial reporting department to support the high growth that is experiencing. Manage the Company’s month and quarter-end accounting close, and financial statement preparation processes. Create, develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Review financial statement trends, provide analytical responses to irregularities and propose solutions to issues as identified. Establish and maintain procedures to ensure proper internal controls are in place to effectively mitigate risks. Develop trusted working relationships both internally with senior management and externally with audit partners, tax consultants, and clients’ accounting personnel. Work closely with the Company’s external auditors during interim and year-end audits. Assist in the implementation of technology and systems initiatives. Evaluate efficiency of the accounting function as it scales and recommend best-in-class practices. Train, mentor, and evaluate team members as appropriate. Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field is required 8 - 10 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role required Experience working in a publicly traded company, Big 4 accounting firm, private equity-backed or large, complex private companies is preferred Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation required Demonstrated experience leading complex consolidations in a multi-entity environment Strong track record of building, leading, and developing high-performing teams Excellent executive communication skills and ability to distill complex accounting into business terms Proficiency in financial reporting software and ERP systems (Yardi, Netsuite, Rippling) Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment We are deeply committed to equal opportunity and inclusive employment practices.
