PROJECT MANAGER JOB FUNCTION: Responsible for planning, organizing, and managing scope, schedule, and costs for Energy Delivery projects and programs requiring complex regulatory approvals, land/Right-of-Way acquisition, public relations management, or cross-functional/multilevel management from conceptualization through budgeting, design, approval, procurement, construction, operation, and project closing. Serves as a focal point for all project/program matters and is responsible for meeting all project related objectives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plan, organize, and manage all project and/or program tasks related to scoping, budgeting, design, approval, procurement, construction, operation, and closing. Provide project leadership and direction, secure team commitment, ensure resources and information are available, evaluate progress, and implement personnel actions as needed. Act as the focal point for programs/projects; liaise with community groups, government agencies, media, utilities, City Council, State Legislature, and PUC to disseminate information, address concerns, obtain permits/approvals, and resolve issues. Prepare testimonies and presentations for internal and public meetings and regulatory hearings as necessary. Develop strategies to meet program/project goals; identify potential problems early; solve issues to meet goals; redirect planning, design, purchasing, permits/approvals, or construction to prevent delays or added costs. Conduct construction site inspections as necessary. Develop and maintain program/project schedules; prepare and present progress and cost reports. Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs, Budgets, Management Accounting & Financial Services, Community Relations, Government Relations, Corporate Communications, Legal, and Energy Delivery departments to obtain approvals; authorize expenditures; review and approve procurement for project materials and construction. Participate in Company emergency response activities as assigned. SR PROJECT MANAGER JOB FUNCTION: Plans, organizes, and manages scope, schedule, and costs of major Energy Delivery capital projects and programs requiring complex regulatory approvals, land/Right-of-Way acquisition, public relations management, or cross-functional/multi-level internal management from inception to project closing. Serves as a focal point for project matters and mentors Project Managers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Lead all project/program tasks; provide direction and ensure resources and information are available; evaluate progress and implement actions to achieve objectives. Develop strategies to meet goals; identify problems early and resolve; inspect construction sites as necessary. Coordinate with community groups, government agencies, media, utilities, and private entities; obtain permits/approvals; provide testimonies and presentations as needed. Maintain project schedules and cost reports; ensure internal and external reporting. Work with various departments to obtain approvals and authorizations; review procurement for design, material, and construction. Participate in emergency response activities as assigned.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge Requirements Extensive knowledge of project management principles and engineering/construction practices in transmission, distribution, substation, and/or generation fields. PMP Certification from PMI is a plus and may be required. Working knowledge of MS Project, Pillar, Ellipse/DARS, Word, Excel, SAP, etc. LEAN principles and safety knowledge for a safe workplace. Skills Requirements Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills to direct, influence, motivate, and persuade groups or individuals. Ability to handle difficult issues with tact, courtesy, and discretion. Analytical, organizational, and time-management skills; ability to work in a team; ability to manage people at all levels. Ability to develop/maintain relationships with community and government leaders. Flexibility in a demanding environment and ability to adapt to changing priorities; ability to conceptualize new ideas quickly. Must have or be able to qualify for a State of Hawaii driver\'s license and meet driving position standards. Experience Requirements Extensive (3-8+ years) experience as a project manager or related roles with large/complex projects; preference for electric utility industry; degree substitution possible for experience. Additional experience with regulatory/social/public affairs processes related to land use; leadership experience desirable. Hiring Range:

Project Manager: $97,900.00 – $125,000.00; Sr. Project Manager: $107,700.00 – $139,800.00. Placement based on skills and qualifications.
