Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Commercial we are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial and revenue-minded Director, Event Sales and Programming responsible for business development and client management to drive large-scale ticketed events at Berkley Riverfront District Plaza and CPKC Stadium. This position will work in conjunction with internal departments to create and sell new business opportunities for the KC Current. The Director, Event Sales and Programming contribute to the strategic planning and execution of department goals and initiatives. This includes developing new business opportunities to make Berkley Riverfront District Plaza and CPKC Stadium a destination for all non-KC Current special events. Responsibilities

Leads a team that markets and sells large-scale ticketed events (both self-operated and third-party) that utilize Berkley Riverfront District Plaza and CPKC Stadium Develop tailored event proposals to win business and negotiate deals with promoters of large-scale events start to finish for the purpose of maximizing revenues and minimizing expenses Develop and maintain strong relationships with the local events industry, including convention and visitors’ bureau, destination management companies, other venues, and vendors Implement a marketing and sales strategy to identify and attract events and other revenue generating activities to venues; including marketing both venues to Kansas City corporate and convention event planners which includes, but is not limited to : marketing and advertising plan development, research, developing marketing content and presentations, and relationship creation and maintenance, and driving attendance to the event(s) through marketing partnership and community promotions Establish competitive rates and pricing packages for space and services provided at both venues and ensure P&L statements are maintained accurately Assign event sales leads and track sales opportunities in CRM Assist in development of department revenue and expense budgets through research, tracking expenses, analyzing trends, and drafting projections Network and attend industry events and conferences to source business Analyze event performance(s) and prepare metrics presentation Other duties as assigned
