We are looking for a Construction Project Estimator to lead and oversee all preconstruction activities from project conception through construction award. Industries we serve are life science, pharma, food and beverage, animal health, aerospace, etc. Experience outside of these industries will be considered.

This role is responsible for shaping project scope, establishing budgets, and developing schedules, while serving as a key liaison between clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams. The Project Estimator ensures projects are strategically planned, competitively priced, and positioned for successful execution in alignment with quality, safety, and profitability standards.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the development of project budgets, schedules, and scopes during preconstruction, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client objectives. Collaborate with design teams, manufacturing, field operations, subcontractors, and vendors to define requirements, secure resources, and ensure all scopes are properly accounted for. Provide strategic input on project design concepts, execution strategies, submittals, and billings to set the foundation for successful delivery. Develop, implement, and maintain procedures for cost control, scope management, billing and collections, change management, and project reporting. Uphold company standards, ethics, and a culture of safety and quality throughout all phases of preconstruction. Build and maintain strong client relationships by serving as the primary point of contact throughout preconstruction, ensuring satisfaction and positioning for repeat opportunities. Oversee subcontractor/vendor relationships, including prequalification, bidding, and negotiation of scopes to ensure value and compliance with project goals. Identify potential risks and lead efforts to resolve issues or disputes through proactive problem-solving and compromise. Direct the smooth transition of projects from sales through preconstruction to operations, ensuring all scopes, budgets, and strategies are clearly communicated and executed. Prepare, track, and analyze project performance metrics, including profitability, budget adherence, and competitive benchmarking. Participate in pre-sale and post-award client presentations, contributing expertise to strengthen proposals and client confidence. QUALIFICATIONS

3-8 years of experience in construction, estimating, and project development. Degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Strong technical knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and project workflows. Proven ability to develop accurate budgets, schedules, and execution strategies. Experience leading risk management, cost history tracking, and change order resolution. Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractor/vendor negotiations and maintain strong external partnerships. Excellent client-facing skills, with a track record of building long-term relationships. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
