Epic Physician Billing Analyst
(also known as an
Epic Professional Billing Analyst ) to join their team. This hybrid role based in Hicksville, NY is ideal for a mid-to-senior level analyst with deep experience configuring and supporting Epic's Professional Billing module.
You'll play a crucial role in system maintenance, workflow optimization, billing accuracy, and training-ensuring seamless revenue cycle performance across physician and provider billing.
Position Overview
The Epic Physician Billing Analyst will serve as the primary system owner and support contact for Epic Professional Billing. You'll be responsible for configuration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of the platform-including charge routing, payment processors, claim scrubbers, and benefit engines. This is a high-impact role where technical expertise meets hands-on collaboration with clinical and financial stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities System Configuration & Maintenance Customize and maintain Epic's
Resolute Professional Billing module Build and test system changes, implement updates, and manage production migration Configure charge router rules, collection agency workflows, benefit engines, estimates, and more Maintain system documentation and internal procedures Workflow Analysis & Optimization Analyze billing workflows and recommend improvements Design efficient workflows aligned with best practices and business needs Partner with IT, Finance, and clinical users to improve operational alignment Support & Troubleshooting Serve as lead support for all Epic Professional Billing end-users Troubleshoot technical errors related to billing, coding, claims, and reimbursement Maintain scrubbers, claim formatting (4010 to 5010), and stay current on ICD and CPT updates Participate in rotating on-call support schedule Training & Documentation Train new users and conduct refresher sessions for existing staff Create detailed internal SOPs and user guides Provide subject matter expertise on billing workflows and system usage Compliance & Epic Updates Stay up to date on Epic enhancements and regulatory changes Maintain all necessary Epic certifications Evaluate new releases for impact on billing configuration and strategy Requirements Required Qualifications Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (required) Epic Professional Billing Certification
(required) Technical Skills Deep experience with Epic's
Professional Billing module Knowledge of charge router, workqueue setup, benefit engines, estimates, and agency workflows Proficiency in troubleshooting, system configuration, and data flow Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Project, Visio, PowerPoint) Industry Knowledge 5+ years in Epic billing or healthcare revenue cycle systems Familiarity with
ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT , X12 formats, and reimbursement workflows Understanding of differences between
professional and hospital billing Soft Skills Excellent communication and collaboration across teams Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy Self-motivated and reliable team contributor
