With over 12 billion die in stock, Rochester can manufacture over 70,000 device types.General SummaryThis role is responsible for leading a team of up to 20 assembly operators who perform the setup and operation of microelectronics assembly equipment, including die and wafer processing, chip-and-wire assembly, assembly of various components, screening, visual inspection, measurement, and sorting of semiconductor devices. ResponsibilitiesLead team in scheduling and planning manufacturing prioritiesOperation of manual, automatic, and semi-automatic microelectronics assembly equipmentLeverage a thorough understanding of die and package inspection to ensure compliance with target specifications including military, JEDEC, and ISO standardsFollow defined specifications and reaction paths per written/verbal instructionUse multiple hand tools to manually process delicate products without damaging componentsOversee and adhere to all applicable ESD protocols in handling products during the manufacturing and inspection processesTrain Assembly Operators on equipment operation and assembly processMaintain well-organized and audit ready work areasWork in an ISO class 7 cleanroom environmentUtilize computer-based manufacturing systems to move product and enter dataWill be required to use high and low powered microscopesActive member of problem solving and process improvement teamsWork with engineers and technicians to write and update operator specificationsAssist in the documentation and recording of applicable KPI’sUnderstanding and implementing 6 Sigma and LEAN principlesQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED is required 5 years of related electronic/semiconductor assembly experienceSkillsBasic computer skills including Microsoft Office® software suite.Ability to communicate verbally and writtenMaintain a high level of attention to detailPrior lead experience within a cleanroom environment a plusDemonstrable organization skillsComfort and ability to work in an ISO class 7 cleanroom environment requiredComfort and ability to use high and low powered microscopes requiredAs a Rochester employee it is expected that the individual represents, supports, and encourages the Rochester culture by adhering to work policies and practices set by the companyRochester Electronics is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
