About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel for Product and Privacy to join their dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will be a strategic and hands-on legal advisor, with a focus on product, privacy, intellectual property, and marketing matters. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the company's practices comply with all relevant laws and industry standards. Responsibilities include providing legal guidance on marketing initiatives, managing terms of service and privacy policies, and supporting the expansion of new apps and product categories. The Senior Counsel will also be involved in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of contracts, as well as advising on social media activities and intellectual property issues. Applicants for the Senior Counsel position at the company should have a JD degree and be a member of the CA state bar in good standing, with at least 8 years of legal experience, including a minimum of 3 years at a law firm in a related area. In-house legal experience at a technology, e-commerce, or retail company is strongly preferred. The role requires deep expertise in product compliance, consumer protection, advertising and marketing law, and experience in intellectual property matters. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of partnering with cross-functional teams, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects independently. A strong business judgment, the versatility to handle a range of legal matters, and the ability to develop and deliver effective legal training programs are also key qualifications for this role.
