MICU RN Details
- Location: Akron, Ohio (zip 44304) – Ohio nursing jobs
- Healthcare Setting: 26-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
- Contract Length: 4 weeks (October 5, 2025 – November 1, 2025)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1910-$1960
- Employment Type: Locum Tenens, Travel RN Contract
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Required to Neuro ICU and Telemetry units
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with Nursys verification
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience in a hospital setting
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Recent Epic EMR experience (within the last 12 months; must be listed on resume)
- Accredited nursing degree (ACEN or CCNE)
- Ability to independently obtain labs and initiate IVs
- Solid black scrubs required
- Successful completion of checklist and competency exams during onboarding
- No RTO or block scheduling requests accepted for this contract
MICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality critical care to patients in the Medical ICU
- Float to Neuro ICU and Telemetry units as needed
- Manage patient ratios typically 1:1 or 1:2, up to 1:3 based on acuity
- Independently obtain labs and initiate IVs
- Document patient care and assessments in Epic EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures
