Summary of Position Position Overview
The Warming House Attendant is responsible for ensuring safe operations of the City's ice rink warming houses and to monitor and report rink activities.
Expected Hours of Work
Monday - Friday: 4:30pm - 8pm
Saturday: 10am - 9pm
Sunday: 10am - 7pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform these essential functions:
1. Follow and enforce safe skating on rink and promote respectful, friendly behavior in the facility.
2. Establish a friendly, positive rapport with facility users/skaters on and off the rink.
3. Perform general cleaning duties and light maintenance in the facility and on the exterior grounds to assure a quality facility appearance.
4. Perform opening and closing procedures of the facility.
5. Shovel snow and clear ice around doors and rink when necessary and maintain all equipment.
6. Report to supervisor additional maintenance needs.
7. Complete all necessary paperwork including daily attendance reports.
8. Perform necessary first aid for participants who are injured, complete the Personal Injury Report and submit to supervisor.
9. Assist with the supervision of organized activities as planned by the Parks and Recreation Department.
10. Oversee lost and found items receptacle.

Minimum and Desired Qualifications Minimum Qualifications • Minimum of 16 years of age. • Able to attend required staff training to be held at a time to be determined. • Available to work regular hours and winter break hours, to be determined.
Work Environment and Physical Demands Work Environment & Physical Demands
Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors. Employee is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. Employee is subject to noise, during events and activities, but generally free from additional work hazards.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak, hear and communicate effectively, evaluate situations carefully, and react appropriately. Staff will read and complete forms, including safety manuals, procedural instructions, and daily documentation. Staff may move around the facility, regularly required to sit, stand and work, sometimes for an extended period. Will occasionally lift items weighing no more than 25 pounds.
