We are seeking an SEC Reporting Manager to join the External Reporting team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial disclosures and supporting key reporting initiatives and will be supporting the quarterly 10K 10Q filings to the SEC. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of SEC reporting requirements, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities • Partner with Investor Relations to support the quarterly earnings release process, including materials for Investor Day. • Assist senior leadership with monthly CFO Management Reporting by analyzing trends, performing year-over-year variance analysis, and responding to inquiries. • Review quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-Q/10-K) for American Express (AXP). • Support the preparation of Retirement Plan and Retirement Savings Plan financial statements.

Required Skills & Experience • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Accounting preferred). • 5-7 years of professional experience within SEC Reporting, Auditing, Controllership, or Accounting (not operational) • Prior experience in External Reporting and/or Public Accounting. • Understanding of SEC reporting buckets, especially the fastest bucket and large accelerated filer category. • Experience with financial reporting tools/systems such as: o Workiva o Oracle Essbase/HFR/SmartView o TM1
Nice to Have Skills & Experience • Experience using Workiva for managing and filing financial statements. • Prior Big 4 or Financial Services experience • MBA or CPA certification (preferred but not required). • Familiarity with CBM and large filer reporting processes.
