Controller . This is an exciting opportunity to join an acquisitive, high-growth platform where you will lead the accounting function, scale operations, and partner directly with executive leadership to drive continued success.
The Opportunity
The Controller will oversee all accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role will lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, implement strong internal controls, support M&A activities, and collaborate with the CFO and private equity partners to optimize processes and integrate acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day accounting operations (GL, A/P, A/R, payroll, reconciliations). Manage and mentor accounting team members; identify development needs. Establish and maintain robust internal controls and accounting procedures. Oversee monthly and annual close processes; deliver timely GAAP-compliant financial statements. Serve as primary liaison with external auditors and ensure regulatory compliance. Support budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of performance and trends. Provide financial leadership for M&A due diligence, post-close integration, and standardization across entities. Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory roles. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. CPA or CMA designation strongly preferred. Experience with M&A transactions and integration. Proficiency in accounting systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise) and advanced Excel. Preferred:
Combination of public accounting and corporate accounting experience. Prior work in a private equity-backed, acquisitive, or multi-entity environment. Construction, roofing, or related industry exposure. Compensation & Benefits
