Location: Christ the King, Seattle Christ the King Catholic School seeks a mission-driven leader who will play a pivotal role in fostering growth, sustainability, and excellence in alignment with the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary Schools (NSBECS). This leadership position drives strategic planning, cultivates philanthropy, strengthens alumni relations, and engages the wider community to ensure that Christ the King Catholic School which is a critical ministry of Christ the King Church promotes financial vitality and the advancement of its mission and values. The Advancement Director reports directly to the school principal. The Catholic School Advancement Director plays a critical role in advancing the Christ the King parish school's mission, ensuring its financial sustainability, and fostering a strong sense of community among stakeholders. This position requires a strategic thinker, effective communicator, and skilled fundraiser dedicated to supporting Catholic education and enriching the lives of students. This position offers flexible work arrangements, allowing for a portion of the weekly hours to be completed off site or outside of traditional school/workday hours. The Advancement Director should be adept at managing remote work, maintaining effective communication, and ensuring productivity independently. Weekly hours vary depending on time of year and specific events and projects.

Responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy Development : Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the financial needs of the school, including annual giving campaigns, major gifts programs, capital campaigns, and planned giving initiatives. Oversee Annual Fund, Panther Spirit Sprint, Auction, Fund-a-Need, and special fundraising projects. Donor Cultivation and Stewardship : Cultivate relationships with donors, alumni, parents, and community members to secure financial support for the school. Provide excellent stewardship to donors, ensuring their ongoing engagement and involvement. Publish reports for: Annual Fund, State of the School, and Donor Appreciation Event. Grant Writing and Management : Identify grant opportunities and develop compelling proposals to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies. Manage grant applications, reporting, and compliance processes. Alumni Relations : Develop and maintain strong relationships with alumni, organizing alumni events, reunions, and networking opportunities. Engage alumni in supporting the school through donations, volunteerism, and advocacy. Marketing and Communications : Promote the school's achievements, programs, and initiatives to internal and external stakeholders. Utilize various communication channels to convey the school's impact and value proposition. Strategic Planning : Work with school leadership to develop long-term strategic plans for advancement, identify key objectives, benchmarks, and timelines for success. Align advancement efforts with the school's mission and vision. Budget Management : Oversee the advancement department budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to achieve fundraising goals and maximize return on investment. Event Planning and Management : Plan and execute fundraising events, donor appreciation events, and other gatherings to engage stakeholders and generate support for the school. Board and Committee Engagement : Collaborate with the school commission and relevant committees to advance fundraising and development goals. Provide regular updates on advancement activities and solicit input from commission members. Networking and Community Engagement : Represent the organization at community events, networking functions, and fundraising conferences to build awareness and support for its mission. Cultivate partnerships with other organizations and community leaders to enhance fundraising opportunities and partnerships. Data Management and Analysis : Maintain accurate records of donors, gifts, and fundraising activities using a donor management system. Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in fundraising efforts. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of advancement experience • Ability to use story-telling to effectively articulate the values and mission of Christ the King Catholic School. • Excellent writing and presentation skills. • High attention to detail and managing moving parts of multiple projects. • Highly self-directed and motivated with excellent organization skills.

Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week with possibility of more hours during evening/weekend events or as responsibilities increase. Salary: Depending on experience and qualifications, ranges from $35.00 - $38.00 per hour. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications. Benefits: The position is part time (29 hours or less) and does not receive benefits.
