Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our Sales/Estimating Team. This role is responsible for delivering accurate and competitive cost estimates for large-scale exterior remodeling projects. The ideal candidate will bring industry expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex bid processes while working closely with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Cost Analysis • Analyze architectural drawings, scopes of work, and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates • Perform quantity take-offs for roofing, siding, carpentry, windows, and related trades • Develop cost breakdowns using market-based data and vendor pricing • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure full scope coverage and value
Bid Management • Prepare and submit competitive proposals for RFPs, negotiated contracts, and hard bids • Coordinate bid schedules and deadlines to meet submission requirements • Craft well-organized proposals highlighting value and service offerings
Collaboration & Communication • Partner with project managers and sales teams to align estimates with field execution • Communicate with clients, architects, and engineers throughout the estimating/bidding process. • Participate in internal project hand-off meetings to ensure smooth transitions
Process Improvement • Enhance and maintain estimating systems and tools for increased accuracy and efficiency • Provide mentorship and training to junior estimators
Qualifications
Required: • 7+ years of construction estimating experience, with a focus on exterior remodeling or roofing, including but not limited to asphalt, low slope roof systems, siding, windows, doors, stucco, stone, decks. • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam) • Deep knowledge of construction methods, materials, and market pricing • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents • Excellent organizational and communication skills • Strong attention to detail and time management
