PCU RN Job Details

• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel RN)
• Location: Norwich, CT 06360
• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (WBH E3 PCU EXP)
• Facility: Dual level of care unit (telemetry and PCU), primary stroke center
• Unit Size: 25 beds (9 PCU level of care)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025, End: 1/4/2026)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1990-$2040

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or telemetry nursing experience preferred
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Strong clinical nursing skills and ability to work as charge nurse when needed

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in the PCU and telemetry units
• Monitor and assess patients with chest pain, stroke, respiratory failure, sepsis, and other acute conditions
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios (1:5-6 on floor side, 1:3 for PCU)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Perform charge nurse duties as required
• Accurately document patient care and progress in a timely manner
