Job Details – Milwaukee PICU RN Travel Contract
- Job Title: PICU Registered Nurse – Locum Tenens (Travel RN)
- Location: Milwaukee, WI 53226 (Wisconsin nursing jobs)
- Unit: PICU West 4
- Assignment Type: Locum tenens, travel nursing contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 6, 2025
- End Date: January 3, 2026
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:30 PM – 8:00 AM)
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
- Float Requirements: Float to all inpatient units including critical care, NICU, and Acute Care
- Charting System: EPIC (highly preferred)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100-$2250
PICU RN Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin or Compact RN license (Registered Nurse)
- Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Current AHA BLS and AHA PALS certifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent PICU experience
- Recent experience with trachs and vents required
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Ability to care for diverse pediatric populations: neurosurgical, trauma, medical/respiratory cases
PICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in a 44-bed surgical/trauma/medical PICU
- Manage patient ratios of 1:1–3 based on acuity
- Operate advanced equipment: oscillators, ICP monitoring, EVDs, CRRT
- Float to other inpatient units as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams in a teaching hospital setting
- Maintain professional appearance and comply with hospital guidelines for scrubs, jewelry, tattoos, and hair
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations
