Job Details

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Telemetry RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Altoona, Pennsylvania. You will provide patient care in a telemetry unit with focus on continuous cardiac monitoring and assessment, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

Required Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a Telemetry RN
• Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
• Current ACLS Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification
• NIHSS certification
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

Summary

The Telemetry Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care in a telemetry unit, including continuous cardiac monitoring and assessment, evaluating patient health, implementing care plans, administering treatments, and collaborating with the care team to ensure safety and quality in cardiac care. Strong clinical skills, critical thinking, communication, and professionalism are required.

Essential Work Functions

• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data; respond appropriately
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments for cardiac care
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during cardiac-related procedures
• Maintain patient comfort and safety in the telemetry unit
• Document patient conditions and notify supervisor or physician of status and response to interventions
• Respond to life-saving situations in line with cardiac protocols
• Document nursing history and physical assessments for assigned patients
• Initiate patient education on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle changes
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
• Maintain patient and client confidentiality
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards

Required Essential Skills

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and English communication
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; proficiency with PC tools
• Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment, push/pull, and bend
• Ability to work effectively with diverse personnel
• Technical/motor skills to assist with procedures and equipment
• Ability to cope with deadlines, work under supervision, and manage irregular schedules while maintaining attention to detail
• Visual acuity and effective communication skills
