Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Telemetry RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Aberdeen, South Dakota. The Telemetry Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care in a telemetry unit with a focus on continuous cardiac monitoring and assessment. The role involves evaluating patient health, implementing care plans, administering treatments, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals with cardiac conditions.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and other telemetry data, and responds to abnormalities
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments, focusing on cardiac care
• Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac-related procedures
• Maintains patient comfort and safety in the telemetry unit
• Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisors or physicians as needed
• Responds to life-saving situations according to nursing standards, policies, procedures, and cardiac emergency protocols
• Documents nursing history and physical assessments for assigned telemetry patients
• Initiates patient education plans focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
• Maintains confidentiality of patients and the client
• Performs other duties within the scope of practice
• Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a Telemetry RN
• Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
• Current ACLS Certification

• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification
• NIHSS certification
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

• English language proficiency (read, write, and communicate)
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions; proficiency in PC skills
• Physical abilities to remain stationary and move equipment (50-100 lbs), push/pull, and bend
• Interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of personnel
• Technical/motor skills for procedures and equipment
• Mental requirements to manage deadlines under pressure and adapt to varying schedules
• Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication abilities
