Job Details: Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a NICU RN for a 12-week travel assignment in Urbana, Illinois. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality, patient-centered care with a dedicated clinical team.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor critically ill and premature newborns; identify changes and document conditions and responses
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments per neonatal nursing techniques
  • Perform neonatal assessments, including vital signs, weight checks, and specialized screenings
  • Operate and manage NICU equipment (e.g., ventilators, CPAP, infusion pumps) with proper functionality
  • Assist with life-saving and diagnostic procedures (e.g., umbilical line placement, intubation)
  • Educate and support parents on neonatal care, feeding techniques, and developmental care
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and procedures
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Adhere to infection control measures and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with neonatologists and therapists to optimize outcomes
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
  • Adhere to hospital safety protocols and infection control guidelines

Qualifications

  • Required: One year of recent experience as a neonatal intensive care RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification
  • Current NRP Certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing Certification (RNC-NIC)
  • PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
