Job Summary:
The Chronic Registered Nurse is accountable for the coordination and delivery of high-quality, clinically competent care to patients undergoing chronic hemodialysis. As a key member of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) care team, the RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards. The RN may supervise patient care technicians and other staff, and will play a vital role in patient education, emergency preparedness, and quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform patient assessments before, during, and after hemodialysis treatments.
• Develop and update nursing care plans in coordination with the interdisciplinary team.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor effectiveness.
• Provide direct care and delegate tasks appropriately to LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians.
• Educate patients and families on treatment modalities, including transplant options.
• Assist in emergency response and act as a resource for staff.
• Participate in staff orientation and training.
• Ensure accurate collection, processing, and shipment of lab specimens.
• Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and documentation protocols.
• Travel to other facilities or training sites as required.

Required Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state RN licensure and BLS CPR certification.
• At least 1 year of Nephrology Nursing experience in the last 2 years.
• Minimum of 3 months of chronic/acute hemodialysis experience as an RN.
• Minimum of 9 months total RN experience.
• Familiarity with hemodialysis procedures, patient care equipment, and emergency protocols.

Nice-to-Have Experience:

• Leadership or team lead experience in a dialysis setting.
• Experience educating patients on renal disease management and lifestyle.
