Overview

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled ER RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Columbus, Ohio. You will provide rapid-response, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting, with competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and support from a dedicated clinical team.

Requirements

• One year of recent experience as an ER RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• Current PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP and SANE certifications
• Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position

Essential Responsibilities

• Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity
• Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per emergency nursing protocols
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during emergency treatments and examinations
• Monitor patient comfort and safety; respond to immediate needs
• Observe and document patient conditions within scope of practice
• Take and monitor vital signs; address deviations to prevent complications
• Respond to life-saving situations per standards, policies, procedures, and protocols
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EMR
• Initiate patient education plans according to acute care needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards

Required Essential Skills

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
• English language proficiency
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; proficient PC skills
• Physical ability to move and assist with equipment (50–100 lbs)
• Professional collaboration with diverse personnel
• Ability to handle procedures and use department equipment
• Mental acuity to work under pressure and manage irregular schedules
• Visual acuity and effective communication abilities
