Education Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, approved by a state board of nursing
  • Holds or is eligible to hold a nursing diploma or degree

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Valid RN State License (required)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – required

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Cardiovascular ICU setting
  • Strong experience in open heart surgery recovery
  • Experience with Mechanical Circulatory Support devices:
    • Impella
    • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
    • Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)
    • Durable Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD)
  • ICU experience preferred

Key Responsibilities & Skills:

  • Ventilator management
  • Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
  • Titration of vasoactive drips
  • Management of mechanical circulatory support devices (Impella, IABP, ECMO)
  • CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
  • Post-cardiotomy recovery
  • RN-led ECMO care model
