• Location: Winston-Salem, NC 27157
• Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at a Level 1 Trauma, Academic Medical Center
• Unit Size: 22-bed ICU, average census of 20 patients/day
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse (Locum Tenens)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (1830 start time)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/29/2025; End: 12/27/2025)
• Patient Ratio: RN: 1:2
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1780 - $1910
• Technology: Epic EMR (preferred), Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, Phillips monitors, CRRT (NexStage)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU nursing experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• CCRN certification preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Proficient in cardiac waveform interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring

CVICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a surgical and medical cardiac critical care setting
• Manage post-operative cardiovascular patients (CABG, valve repair/replacement, thoracic aortic aneurysms, Impella, IABP, LVAD, ECMO)
• Titrate vasoactive and antiarrhythmic medications
• Conduct post-cardiac assessments and circulatory support management
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including intensivists, CNAs, respiratory therapists, and charge nurses
• Document care and assessments accurately using Epic EMR
• Participate in departmental orientation and ongoing professional development
