Travel Nursing Job Details
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (ER RN)
- Location: Richmond, VA 23226
- Duration: 16 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 – End: 1/10/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:30pm – 8:00am), every other weekend and major holidays required
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,780 - $1,910
- Unit Size: 30 beds, 14 Fast Track beds, additional hallway beds as needed
- Patient Population: All ages, non-trauma ER
- Scrubs: Navy blue, white, or any combination
- Interview: ITO interviews
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (must be outside 50-mile radius)
RN Qualifications
- Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required)
- Minimum 1 year of recent adult Emergency Department nursing experience (required)
- Proficient in conscious sedation (required)
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI/De-escalation training certifications (required)
- Must pass EKG exam at orientation (study guide provided)
- PALS, TNCC, and NRP certifications preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Recent Emergency Department or Critical Care RN experience preferred
- EPIC EHR training preferred
ER Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver, coordinate, and evaluate patient-centered nursing care in the Emergency Department
- Supervise licensed and unlicensed healthcare associates in clinical support roles
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications safely and according to hospital policies
- Coordinate patient care across hospital departments and with external agencies
- Serve as a patient safety advocate and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Manage the physical and emotional demands of emergency nursing in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, EMS, law enforcement, and crisis teams
- Provide care for patients of all ages with a variety of acute medical needs
- Utilize lifesaving equipment and respond effectively to emergency situations
- Demonstrate professionalism, resilience, and compassion in all patient interactions
