Job Details

• Location: Richmond, VA 23225
• Setting: 2F Med Surg / Neuro Unit (Main Hospital, 2 Front Floor)
• Unit Capacity: 34 beds (up to 43 patients at max capacity)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 9/15/2025 – End: 12/15/2025)
• Employment Type: Locum tenens, travel nursing contract
• Patient Ratio: 5:1
• EMR: Meditech
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1750–$1800

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent neuro or med-surg RN experience
• NIH Stroke Certification (preferred for neuro nursing jobs)
• ACLS certification (preferred)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Positive, engaged, and compassionate personality

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients on a medical-surgical and neuro unit
• Monitor and assess neurological status; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient care in Meditech EMR system
• Participate in stroke care and support the unit’s stroke certification standards
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for patients and staff
