Baker Water Systems – AY McDonald Pumps Reports To:
Warehouse Supervisor or Manufacturing Lead Position Summary: The AY Submersible Pump Assembler is responsible for assembling submersible pump components to precise specifications at Baker Manufacturing’s new AY Pump Warehouse. This role supports efficient, high-quality pump production for AY McDonald’s aftermarket and OEM product lines. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities: Assemble submersible pump components including motors, shafts, impellers, seals, and other mechanical parts using hand and power tools. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate and consistent assembly. Conduct in-process quality checks and perform functional tests on assembled pumps. Maintain accurate records of assembly work, component usage, and inspection results. Assist with receiving, organizing, and staging components and materials. Work collaboratively with warehouse and production teams to meet daily production targets. Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Support continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, lean manufacturing, and standard work updates. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools required; previous pump or motor assembly experience is a plus. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and written instructions. Basic computer/data entry skills (for work orders and inventory tracking). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Team-oriented with strong communication and problem-solving skills. Work Environment: This position is based in a newly established warehouse and light manufacturing facility. Fast-paced environment with both individual and team-oriented tasks. Occasional overtime or schedule adjustments may be required to meet demand. OT May be Required.
