Location: AY Pump Warehouse - 1809 Adel Street, Janesville, WI
Division: Baker Water Systems - AY McDonald Pumps
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor or Manufacturing Lead
Position Summary:
The AY Submersible Pump Assembler is responsible for assembling submersible pump components to precise specifications at Baker Manufacturing's new AY Pump Warehouse. This role supports efficient, high-quality pump production for AY McDonald's aftermarket and OEM product lines. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assemble submersible pump components including motors, shafts, impellers, seals, and other mechanical parts using hand and power tools. * Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate and consistent assembly. * Conduct in-process quality checks and perform functional tests on assembled pumps. * Maintain accurate records of assembly work, component usage, and inspection results. * Assist with receiving, organizing, and staging components and materials. * Work collaboratively with warehouse and production teams to meet daily production targets. * Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized, and safe work environment. * Support continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, lean manufacturing, and standard work updates. * Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED required. * Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools required; previous pump or motor assembly experience is a plus. * Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and written instructions. * Basic computer/data entry skills (for work orders and inventory tracking). * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. * Team-oriented with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:
* This position is based in a newly established warehouse and light manufacturing facility. * Fast-paced environment with both individual and team-oriented tasks. * Occasional overtime or schedule adjustments may be required to meet demand. * OT May be Required.
Monday-Friday 6am-3:30 pm
Compensation details: 19-21 Hourly Wage
