FINANCIAL REPORTING ANALYST

The Financial Reporting Analyst will be a key member of the accounting and finance team, responsible for preparing and reviewing external financial reporting, supporting SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K), and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
OVERVIEW OF THE FINANCIAL REPORTING ANALYST ROLE: Assist in the preparation and review of SEC filings, including 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, earnings releases, and other regulatory filings. Ensure financial statements and disclosures comply with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and company policies. Support SOX compliance, including documentation, testing, and evaluation of internal controls over financial reporting. Collaborate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits. Assist with technical accounting research and implementation of new accounting standards relevant to the oil & gas industry. Partner with internal departments (operations, tax, treasury, investor relations) to gather data and ensure accuracy of reporting. Contribute to process improvement initiatives in financial reporting and controls. Support ad hoc financial analysis, projects, and special assignments as needed. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE FINANCIAL REPORTING ANALYST: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). 2-5 years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 or large regional firm) or financial reporting for a public company; oil & gas industry experience a plus. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX compliance. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
