ER RN Job Details – Asheville, NC

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department (Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel nursing contract)
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 22, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit Size: 101-bed Emergency Department
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 (ED behavioral holds)
• Scheduling: Every other weekend required; flexibility to meet department needs
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2010-$2290

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 1 year as an ER RN
• Experience in a Level II trauma center and high-volume Emergency Department (100,000+ visits/year) preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (prior to start)
• ENPC certification within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork, communication, and coaching skills
• Ability to float and provide clinical support in all areas of the Emergency Department
• Professionalism and commitment to delivering an excellent patient experience (AIDET communication, respectful behavior)

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency care to patients in a fast-paced hospital setting
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including techs and unit clerks, to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Utilize Baxter pumps, GE monitors, and Cerner documentation system for patient care
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including updating patient boards and keeping patients informed
• Participate in required training and uphold hospital standards
• Float within all sections of the Emergency Department as needed
• Wear required navy scrubs and maintain a professional appearance
