HDR is seeking a Market Sector Leader for our Aviation program in North Texas. The primary responsibilities include planning, directing, and overseeing all aspects of multi-discipline airport projects with high technical complexity, including managing project staff. Act as a seller/doer for current and future airport projects in the North Texas market. Collaborate with North Texas Area leadership on strategy, pursuits, and project delivery. Manage staffing and workload throughout project development to ensure completion on schedule and within budget. Coordinate multiple projects concurrently, establish client relationships, and participate in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings. Conduct design development and contract document work sessions on-site with project teams. Work with Business/Accounting Managers, Project Controllers, and Area Managers for project reviews. Implement QA/QC procedures and oversee training for personnel. Supervise project staff and mentor less experienced team members. Perform other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of aviation-related engineering experience. Texas PE license or ability to obtain one. Knowledge of North Texas aviation market, client relationships, and past project experience preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and MS Project preferred. Business development and strategic planning skills are desirable. Excellent communication, leadership, planning, and mentoring skills. Active participation in our employee-owned culture is required. Preference for local candidates. CCM or PMP certification. 15 years of aviation-related design, construction, and project management experience preferred. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Professional engineering license (PE or P.Eng) recognized in the position's location. At least 10 years of experience in Airfield Planning and Design. Ability to develop and improve methodologies or technical tools for design efficiency. Strong understanding of airfield design principles. Technical expertise in designing airfield components.
