Overview North Texas Aviation Leader

— HDR is looking for a Market Sector Leader to join our Aviation program in North Texas. The primary duties include planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of multi-discipline airport projects with high degrees of technical complexity and involving managing project staff.

Responsibilities

Act as a seller/doer for current and future airport-related projects in the North Texas market.

Work with North Texas Area leadership on strategy, pursuits, and delivery of projects.

Manage staffing and workload through the entire project development to completion on schedule and within budget.

Coordinate production and delivery of multiple projects concurrently; establish client relations; participate in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.

Conduct design development and contract document work sessions at project sites with Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals, and other disciplines.

Collaborate with Business/Accounting Managers, Project Controllers, and the Area Manager or Office Principals for project reviews.

Implement QA/QC procedures and execute training for personnel.

Supervise project staff and mentor less experienced staff.

Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of aviation-related engineering experience.

Minimum 5 years aviation design project management experience.

Texas PE license or ability to obtain.

Knowledge of the North Texas aviation market, including client relationships and past project experience, preferred.

AutoCAD, MS Office and MS Project experience preferred.

Demonstrated business development and strategic planning skills are desired.

Good communication, leadership, planning, and mentoring skills are a must.

Commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture is a must.

Preference given to local candidates.

Master's degree; CCM or PMP certification; 15 years of aviation-related design, construction and project management experience preferred.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng).

A minimum of 10 years experience with Airfield Planning and Design.

Develop, maintain and implement new or improved methodologies or technical tools to improve design efficiency for use throughout Aviation Market.

Strong understanding of airfield design and technical background in designing multiple airfield aspects.

Microsoft Office and project management experience.

Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Demonstrated leadership skills.
