Under the supervision of a RN or PMHNP, Clinical Supervisor, and Clinical Director, the nurse assists in supporting individuals in the Residential Crisis Stabilization Unit (RCSU). The role involves collaboration with RCSU staff and medical providers, maintaining high professional standards, and adhering to the agency's mission and values.
- Provides nursing assessments and evaluates health problems for RCSU suitability.
- Monitors clients' responses to treatment, including medication side effects and adverse reactions.
- Provides ongoing nursing care to RCSU clients.
- Educates clients and staff on health promotion, prevention, and treatment.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, families, and community providers, sharing assessment and treatment information.
- Promotes integrated care through consultation and collaboration.
- Participates in staff meetings and collaborates with PMHNP as needed.
Skills and Requirements:
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently on various projects.
- Availability to work every other weekend.
- Effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to adapt to changing needs.
- Own a personal cell phone and provide the number to the team.
- Maintain a valid company email and access necessary technology and equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of practical nursing techniques and client care.
- Knowledge of sanitation, hygiene, health and safety practices.
- Skills in medication administration and understanding of dosages and effects.
- Ability to operate relevant equipment.
- Ability to observe and report patient condition changes accurately.
Licensing and Certifications:
- Current, unencumbered VA RN or LPN license.
- Valid VA driver's license.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Recent TB test (within the past year).
- Proof of licensure and completion of required DBHDS training upon hire.
Positions Available:
- Full-time: Alternate weeks, Mon-Thu 4pm-11pm with Sat & Sun 7am-7pm; or Tue-Fri 4pm-11pm with weekends off.
- Part-time: Alternate Mondays and Fridays 11pm-8am; or Saturdays and Sundays 7pm-7am.
