Overview

Administrative Assistant role at SouthState Bank. The position requires owning the tasks and challenges encountered in the operation of the assigned role, delivering high-quality administrative support, and contributing to team success.

Responsibilities

  • Sets priorities and organizes the administrative workload for the assigned area to utilize time effectively
  • Composes and edits a variety of correspondence, reports, memos, and other material requiring independent judgment as to content, accuracy, and completeness
  • Prepares, maintains, and distributes in-depth Excel spreadsheets and reports (e.g., loans, deposits)
  • Maintains files and records
  • Maintains calendar and coordinates travel arrangements
  • Obtains additional information as needed to complete reports on sensitive or special management communications
  • Performs regular administrative duties, including telephone support, screening visitors, and scheduling meetings
  • Processes and tracks expenses
  • Interacts with a variety of employees; demonstrates extensive verbal and written communication skills
  • Ensures bank policies, procedures, code of conduct, and regulatory guidelines are strictly followed
  • Provides assistance to other employees through positive interactions
  • Participates in marketing endeavors/efforts
  • Updates skills through professional training and cross-training opportunities offered by the Bank
  • Performs all other tasks, responsibilities, or duties as directed by management

Qualifications, Education, And Certification Requirements

  • Education: Minimum High School Diploma; some college preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of administrative experience
  • Certifications/Knowledge: Broad knowledge of modern office practices and Microsoft Office Suite; strong written and verbal communication; ability to work independently on complex, confidential tasks; detail-oriented; able to work in a fast-paced environment; knowledge of banking software used in the department

Training Requirements/Classes

Required annual compliance training, New Employee Orientation

Physical Demands

Must be able to access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and reports. Requires extended time at a computer, which may be performed while sitting or standing with a desk.

Work Environment

Open lobby or cubicle environment; may be loud at times.

Travel

Travel may be required to attend meetings as needed.
