Overview
Portable Appliance Tester
Permanent role with National Living Wage, bonus, company vehicle, fuel card, expenses and tools. Average salary 28k. Full training and progression opportunities. 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with some weekend work and occasional out-of-hours work. Some time away from home may be required (Monday to Friday).
Must hold Full Manual UK Driving Licence and pass a Full enhanced DBS check.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT) in accordance with the current edition of the IET Code of Practice.
- Produce results which meet the requirements and quality standards of clients and external accrediting bodies.
- Manage appliance testing in accordance with Health & Safety Regulations.
- Liaise with customers to ensure that the work is carried out efficiently, to customer’s requirements, whilst limiting disruption to their business. Sites include Schools, Hospitals, Hotels and Universities.
- Have an acceptable knowledge of Microsoft Office and access to emails; weekly download/report submission to the PAT team at Head Office.
- Job schedules will be arranged by the PAT Team at Head Office; the engineer must manage their own time efficiently and successfully.
- Maintain acceptable time-keeping, start & finish times as directed by the PAT Manager.
- Identify and prevent potential areas for customer dissatisfaction, e.g. arriving late due to traffic; good route planning is vital.
Requirements / Skills
- Organisational skills; hard-working, competent and reliable; excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
- Literate with IT (Microsoft Office).
- Have access to a Laptop/tablet/computer once a week to download reports.
- Willing to work in different environments and comply with current uniform standards (uniform worn correctly).
- The candidate must have a Full Manual UK Driving Licence and pass a Full enhanced DBS check.
