Overview
Pernod Ricard USA — Rutherford, CA. Part-time HR Generalist (30 hours/week; flexible schedule; additional hours may be needed based on business needs). Reports to the Human Resources Director and is primarily responsible for Payroll and HR activities across HR operations. This role serves as a point of contact for employees and supports HR processes from onboarding to benefits and HR systems.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Generalist Support: provide HR support as a point of contact regarding benefits, policies and procedures, leaves of absence, and other HR-related questions.
- Serve as primary liaison between associates and other HR centers of excellence to deliver high-quality service.
- Support employee events as needed, including monthly team meetings.
- Deliver excellent customer service for HRIS, health benefits, 401(k), and payroll inquiries.
- Support and manage various HR projects as required.
- Conduct internal audits and manage sensitive documentation securely.
- Payroll/HRIS: process payroll accurately and on schedule; manage hourly and salary payroll; timecard approvals; pre-checks of payroll reports; manage out-of-cycle pay and final checks for terminating employees.
- Collaborate with PR North American payroll team to improve payroll processes and experience.
- Set up new employees in HRIS; manage salary updates, role changes, and terminations; ensure accurate, up-to-date employee records; maintain compliant and organized employee files; destroy documents timely for efficiency.
- Automate repetitive tasks and build efficient processes.
- Reporting: manage annual social reporting for PRW USA employees; payroll reporting, headcount, starters, terminations; monthly regional reporting (PTO, KPIs, Sustainability KPIs); participate in compensation surveys; manage HR reporting requirements for PRW/MMPJ; contribute to internal and external reports; handle ad hoc reporting.
- Digital Engagement: manage HR tech platforms to boost employee connection; monitor and optimize usage of digital HR tools; administer systems such as Workday, KRONOS, Active Directory, PDK, MyPortal; back-end management of KRONOS and Workday with configuration requests to support the team.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: support full employment lifecycle from onboarding to off-boarding, including new hire orientation; facilitate onboarding sessions; prepare job descriptions with hiring managers; conduct compensation analysis; manage job postings; oversee recruitment cycle (screening, interviewing, evaluating candidates); manage seasonal and part-time recruitment end-to-end (planning, sourcing, recruiting, onboarding, offboarding).

Essential Skills / Qualifications / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 2-3 years of professional-level HR experience
- Knowledge of California employment, wage, and hour laws
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Ability to work autonomously with initiative and accountability
- Strong prioritization and communication skills
- Strong system skills for data entry, analytics, and reporting
- Excellent interpersonal skills; systematic and accurate work approach
- Sense of urgency and problem-solving ability

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay scale offered for this position is $30- $35 per hour. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data.
