Human Resources Generalist.

Note: This description consolidates the role details for Sentara Health. Location: Elizabeth City, NC. Work shift: First (Days). Standard working hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (ET). Position status: Full-time, Day Shift. Position location: Hybrid.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers service in a professional and efficient manner, providing prompt assistance while managing expectations to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Provides real-time, accurate, and comprehensive responses to telephone and written inquiries regarding general HR-related issues, policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Escalates complex issues, where applicable.
  • Processes employee-related transactions accurately based on research, employee-specific information, and process guidelines.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation and records for HR-related cases in the HR Help Desk.
  • Support the continuing transformation of HR via HR process implementation and the continuous technological improvements in Workday.
  • Develop, deploy and execute solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation.
  • Provides effective application and interpretation of company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure consistent, equal, and fair treatment of all employees.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
  • All other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Human Resources or a related field or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related HR experience.
  • Preferred: 4-6 years related work experience or relevant military experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in Human Resources.
  • 4+ years of experience in a role utilizing business acumen and understanding.
  • Preferred qualifications/experience: Experience as an HR Generalist working with multiple functions.
