United Auto Supply distributor is seeking self-motivated individuals to operate a company vehicle to deliver products to customers. The employee will load and unload the delivery vehicle, verify parts loaded and unloaded, collect payments from customers, obtain signatures from receiving locations confirming parts unloaded/loaded, and deliver any returned items back to the branch.

Responsibilities

• Drive a company vehicle in a safe, courteous, and responsible manner, avoiding traffic violations and accidents
• Physically load the company vehicle at the branch
• Follow best practices for safety on the road and when loading or unloading
• Drive to delivery destinations and unload the vehicle, verify parts unloaded, obtain signatures confirming receipt, and sign off on orders
• Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays
• Stay alert to unexpected hazards on the road to avoid accidents
• Have knowledge of working with a GPS and a tablet for signing off on orders
• Make proper notations on the manifest and provide receipts for parts being returned to the branch
• Interact with customers and co-workers professionally
• Ensure the vehicle is fueled and ready for use
• Notify the manager of any vehicle repairs needed in a timely manner
• Comply with established driver policies and procedures
• Assume other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license, and in some cases a commercial driver’s license
• Knowledge of how to handle materials safely
• Familiarity with using navigation systems
• Time management to ensure deliveries are made on schedule
• Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination to stay safe while driving
• Physical ability to load and unload heavy parts
