Division Manager @ Professional Search Group - OC is seeking a Manufacturing Controller to join their client’s dynamic team. The Manufacturing Controller will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision-making processes and improve operational efficiency. The Manufacturing Controller serves as a key business partner to plant leadership, providing financial insights that drive efficiency, profitability, and compliance. This position reports to the CFO with a dotted line to a General Manager.

Since 1923, they have become one of the premier construction contractors in Southern California, building infrastructure including airports, seaports, rail and intermodal, military/federal, roads, highways, and specialty projects.

Base pay range

$140,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, and product profitability.
• Oversee inventory valuation, cycle counts, and reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting.
• Partner with operations leadership to analyze production performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate policies.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports specific to manufacturing activities.
• Provide financial forecasting and budget support for manufacturing operations.
• Analyze capital expenditure requests, ROI, and payback for operational projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff assigned to manufacturing support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory management.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with operations leaders to drive financial performance.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
• Ability to influence and support operational decision-making.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Proven track record of building effective cross-functional partnerships.
