A leading U.S.-based manufacturer is seeking a Controller to join its growing team. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including accounting operations, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep financial expertise and a passion for driving operational efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
- Oversee daily accounting operations: general ledger, reconciliations, AR/AP, and job cost accounting.
- Develop and maintain internal controls and audit functions.
- Partner with IT to automate inventory tracking and reporting.
- Create and implement accounting policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and lead annual external audits.
- Ensure accurate and timely tax compliance and filings.
- Collaborate with operations and finance teams on cost accounting.
- Manage multi-state payroll processing and tax reporting.
- Handle business licenses, permits, and regulatory filings.
- Interface with government agencies for grant-related cost reimbursements.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, including hiring and performance management.
What We’re Looking For
- Active CPA license.
- Minimum 15 years of accounting experience in a large manufacturing environment.
- Experience with organizations with revenue of $50M or more.
- Strong understanding of financial, distribution, and manufacturing systems.
- Expertise in cost accounting and government grant accounting.
- Experience with stock-based compensation.
- Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze transactional data and present insights to leadership.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across departments.
