A leading U.S.-based manufacturer is seeking a Controller to join its growing team. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including accounting operations, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep financial expertise and a passion for driving operational efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations: general ledger, reconciliations, AR/AP, and job cost accounting.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and audit functions.
  • Partner with IT to automate inventory tracking and reporting.
  • Create and implement accounting policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and lead annual external audits.
  • Ensure accurate and timely tax compliance and filings.
  • Collaborate with operations and finance teams on cost accounting.
  • Manage multi-state payroll processing and tax reporting.
  • Handle business licenses, permits, and regulatory filings.
  • Interface with government agencies for grant-related cost reimbursements.
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, including hiring and performance management.

What We’re Looking For

  • Active CPA license.
  • Minimum 15 years of accounting experience in a large manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with organizations with revenue of $50M or more.
  • Strong understanding of financial, distribution, and manufacturing systems.
  • Expertise in cost accounting and government grant accounting.
  • Experience with stock-based compensation.
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze transactional data and present insights to leadership.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across departments.
