Overview

Position Available: Part Time Custodian - 2nd Shift
Location: West Bloomfield School District

Scheduled: Monday through Friday, 12:00pm to 6:30pm

Wage: $16.25/hour plus potential bonuses. Base pay range listed: $16.00/hr - $17.00/hr. An additional $1.00/hour bonus for zero absences in a pay period for general custodians. Totals up to $17.25/hour for all hours worked.

Primary Responsibilities

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industry equipment.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• May remove stains from surfaces using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• General cleaning of furniture, window sills, walls, and surfaces.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to access cleaning areas.
• Clean/stock restrooms, janitorial closets and break rooms.
• Record and document all cleaning functions on logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report any major safety item for repair.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Education: High school diploma, GED or technical school certification
• Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision
• 0-6 months custodial/janitorial experience with floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Ability to read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies
• Ability to follow basic verbal and written instructions
• Attention to detail
• Team-oriented approach
