Position
Title: Lead Custodian
Full Time, Non-Exempt, 12 month
Reports to: Assistant Facilities Manager
Education/Experience Required/Preferred: A high school diploma is required. Further education is preferred.
General Responsibilities
The Lead Custodian supervises the Custodial Department and team, and is primarily responsible for the cleanliness of Village Christian Schools facilities.
Specific Responsibilities
- Inventories and submits orders for Custodial supplies to the Assistant Facilities Manager
- Oversees the Custodial staff in their duties, makes inspections, and assists in the overall completion of the daily tasks to keep the campus clean
- Evaluates the duties of the Custodial staff in efficiency and task assignment
- Schedules, assigns and coordinates the Custodial staff with the assistance of the Facilities Manager and the Assistant Facilities Manager
- Inspects, reviews, and evaluates the quality of work completed
- Trains the staff on proper use of the Custodial equipment and monitors the use
- Responsible for securing the entire campus (doors, windows, and lights) by the end of each work shift
- Supervises security procedures to be maintained by the Custodial staff, reporting violations to the Assistant Facilities Manager
- Meets daily with the Assistant Facilities Manager to review the workload and report maintenance issues
- Assists the Assistant Facilities Manager in training new Custodians
- Performs other duties as directed by the Facilities Manager or Assistant Facilities Manager
Qualifications

- Must be able to bend, reach, climb ladders/stairs in the performance of duties
- Ability to carry/lift up to 50 pounds

Specific vision abilities required include close vision such as reading handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus, especially at night.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in wet or humid weather, and extreme temperatures.
This is a full time, 12-month, non-exempt hourly position. Schedule will be M-F 2:30pm to 11:00pm.
