Overview

Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications for adjunct faculty (temporary, part-time) to teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or our six county centers in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick during the day/evenings, online and dual credit instructors to teach at high schools. Applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities

• Teach at a variety of locations with a diverse student body, using technology and a variety of teaching methods in accordance with established syllabi.
• Plan, manage, and teach in accordance with established syllabi to a diverse student body.
• Follow all EPA & OSHA rules pertaining to the program.
• Participate in college functions as needed.
• Apply teaching practices and activities in pursuit of continuous improvement of the program and the college.
• Render professional service as a team player for the good of the college, the division/department, and support the college's mission and vision while performing duties with the highest quality of service.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

• Five years of experience and an associate degree, or five years of experience and certifications in the field of welding.
• Proficient in SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW processes on plate, pipe, and structural steel.
• In-depth knowledge of the welding trade and ability to effectively share this knowledge with others.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience, especially at the community and technical college or secondary level.
