Authority
As an RN you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties within the RN scope of practice defined by the Ohio Nurse Practice Act / ORC Chapter 4723.
Education
- Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience
- On-the-job training provided.
Specific Requirements
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active RN license in this state.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, visitors, government agencies, and the public.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices, and laws and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and be willing to work with and supervise other personnel.
- Must be able to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, policies, and procedures for quality care.
- Must be willing to adopt new methods and principles into nursing practices.
- Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
- Must not pose a direct threat to health or safety in the workplace.
- Must have patience, tact, enthusiasm, and the willingness to handle difficult residents.
