Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead and mentor a diverse team of production associates, machine operators, line leads, and material handlers. Set clear expectations, deliver coaching and feedback, and conduct performance evaluations. Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture focused on accountability, respect, and growth. Champion team development through cross-training, skill assessments, and succession planning. Document all relevant information using company and inter department SOPs. Conduct management practices to ensure sufficient adoption of change across the production staff.
  • Production Execution & Efficiency: Plan, organize, and manage daily production to meet shift targets and customer expectations. Ensure optimal use of labor, materials, and equipment while minimizing downtime and waste. Drive adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), production schedules, and line balancing. Collaborate with maintenance and other support departments to address downtime and implement preventative solutions.
  • Safety & Compliance: Lead daily safety huddles and enforce company safety policies and OSHA compliance. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments; ensure all incidents are reported and investigated. Promote a zero-incident safety culture by modeling safe behavior and recognizing safety excellence.
  • Quality Assurance & Control: Enforce quality standards and inspect output at various stages to ensure specification adherence. Partner with Quality assurance to investigate and resolve non-conformance using root cause analysis and corrective action plans. Lead first-piece and final inspections as needed to support customer satisfaction.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate shift handoffs with other production supervisors to maintain continuity and communication. Partner with materials planning, logistics, and warehouse to ensure timely flow of materials and finished goods. Communicate effectively with leadership regarding shift metrics, issues, and improvement ideas.
  • Continuous Improvement & Reporting: Identify areas for process improvement and lead Kaizen, 5S, and lean manufacturing initiatives. Track and report daily performance metrics (OEE, throughput, scrap, rework, and downtime, etc.). Use data and visual management to drive action and accountability at the floor level.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in operations management, Industrial Technology, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment, with 3+ years in a leadership role. Proven ability to lead teams in high-paced, metric-driven production settings. Strong working knowledge of lean principles, safety protocols, and quality systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP systems, and production scheduling tools. Excellent communication, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to enter small spaces, utilize MEWP at heights exceeding 15 feet high, and maintain the functional physical capacity to climb ladders, lift objects up to 20 lbs, and manipulate items with hand-eye coordination.
  • Other: Formal lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification (Green/Black belt) is preferred. Experience in automated or semi-automated high-volume production environments. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
  • Required: Supervisor experience in a manufacturing or food production environment (2 years).
