Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the employees of the Minneapolis office, including underwriters, brokers, and support staff.
  • Drive the growth of a successful and profitable company within the region.
  • Manage team performance through training, mentoring, and talent retention.
  • Attract, hire, and promote top talent.
  • Develop and monitor sales and marketing strategies.
  • Manage relationships with retail agents and underwriters/brokers.
  • Oversee office Profit & Loss.
  • Collaborate with corporate headquarters to ensure alignment and support.
  • Supervise underwriting guidelines, company policies, procedures, and compliance.
  • Oversee overall office operations, including new business, renewals, marketing, training, and staffing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of sales team leadership experience with direct management.
  • Minimum 5 years of multi-line underwriting/production experience, preferably in excess & surplus lines.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and motivate teams.
  • Strong relationship management skills with clients, carriers, and third parties.
  • Proficiency in sales and marketing.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Insurance licenses or professional designations (e.g., CPCU, CIC) preferred.
