Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the employees of the Minneapolis office, including underwriters, brokers, and support staff.
- Drive the growth of a successful and profitable company within the region.
- Manage team performance through training, mentoring, and talent retention.
- Attract, hire, and promote top talent.
- Develop and monitor sales and marketing strategies.
- Manage relationships with retail agents and underwriters/brokers.
- Oversee office Profit & Loss.
- Collaborate with corporate headquarters to ensure alignment and support.
- Supervise underwriting guidelines, company policies, procedures, and compliance.
- Oversee overall office operations, including new business, renewals, marketing, training, and staffing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of sales team leadership experience with direct management.
- Minimum 5 years of multi-line underwriting/production experience, preferably in excess & surplus lines.
- Proven ability to lead, influence, and motivate teams.
- Strong relationship management skills with clients, carriers, and third parties.
- Proficiency in sales and marketing.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Insurance licenses or professional designations (e.g., CPCU, CIC) preferred.
