Position Overview

We are looking for a Protection and Relaying Project Engineer to join our expanding team. Opportunities are available in multiple locations across the US, including Austin, Chicago, Denver, and more.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform protective relay calculations and set point determinations.
  • Conduct relay coordination studies using short circuit modeling software.
  • Develop relay setting files with vendor software.
  • Produce compliance and client reports for protective relays.
  • Support relay construction activities.
  • Work under supervision and independently on tasks, mentoring less experienced staff.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Coordinate with other substation design disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • At least 4 years of experience in power system analysis, relay settings, or substation design.
  • Familiarity with software like CAPE, Aspen, ETAP.
  • Strong communication and computer skills.
  • Experience with transmission and distribution protection schemes, voltages from 12kV to 765kV preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • PE license.
  • Experience in project execution within the power sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and power sector design software.
