Position Overview
We are looking for a Protection and Relaying Project Engineer to join our expanding team. Opportunities are available in multiple locations across the US, including Austin, Chicago, Denver, and more.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform protective relay calculations and set point determinations.
- Conduct relay coordination studies using short circuit modeling software.
- Develop relay setting files with vendor software.
- Produce compliance and client reports for protective relays.
- Support relay construction activities.
- Work under supervision and independently on tasks, mentoring less experienced staff.
- Travel may be required.
- Coordinate with other substation design disciplines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- At least 4 years of experience in power system analysis, relay settings, or substation design.
- Familiarity with software like CAPE, Aspen, ETAP.
- Strong communication and computer skills.
- Experience with transmission and distribution protection schemes, voltages from 12kV to 765kV preferred.
Required Qualifications
- PE license.
- Experience in project execution within the power sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and power sector design software.
