JOB DESCRIPTION
Upward Title and Closing is seeking an experienced Escrow Branch Manager to lead our Seattle office. As an Escrow Branch Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the escrow branch, ensuring that all transactions are processed efficiently and accurately. You will be involved in guiding various aspects of the escrow process, providing expertise and support to ensure that all transactions run smoothly.
In addition to managing the branch operations, you will also handle your own book of business, working directly with agents, buyers, and sellers to facilitate seamless transactions. You will review contracts, verify titles, ensure taxes are paid, and confirm loans are funded, maintaining a hands-on approach to every transaction from start to finish.

  • Leadership: Guiding and mentoring your team to achieve high performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Detail-Oriented: Ensuring all paperwork is complete, accurate, and complies with regulations.
  • Problem Solving: Identifying and addressing potential issues before they cause delays.
  • Customer Service: Building strong relationships with agents and clients, providing exceptional service and support throughout the escrow process.
  • Multi-Tasking: Managing multiple transactions simultaneously while maintaining organization and efficiency.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Jack – or Jill – of all trades: Knowing the intricacies of the contract from beginning to end, ensuring that it is closed in a timely, efficient and error-free manner.
  • Devoted to detail: Verifying all paperwork is complete so that escrow closes on time and correctly, including reviewing title commitments and raising title issues to be cleared.
The ideal candidate for this role must be comfortable using an all-digital approach utilizing virtual closing programs while still delivering best in class customer service to agents and homebuyers.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Following the money: Working with lenders and underwriters to ensure that all the I’s are dotted, and T’s are crossed to fund and complete transactions.
  • Relationship building: Establishing and maintaining relationships with essential industry players – agents, attorneys, lenders, surveyors and government agencies – that enable you to smoothly manage transactions.
  • Business builder: Reaching out to new agents, earning their confidence and trust and creating opportunities to market our business; retaining agents by providing them with white-glove service.
  • Talent builder: Training escrow assistants to open opportunities for advancement; delegating, auditing work answering questions and giving direction.
  • Sealing the deal: Being present at closing and making it a positive, memorable experience for agents and buyers.
Qualifications:
What you must have:
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of escrow officer experience managing a desk.
  • Certification: Limited Practice Officer (LPO) license in state of WA.
  • Industry awareness: Technical knowledge of closing process.
  • Computer skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Communications skills: Strong written and verbal skills to keep agents, buyers, sellers and all other parties up to date with the process and work with them to resolve issues.
  • Travel: Ability to be mobile including meeting clients for closings at various locations (Brokerage offices, shared workspaces and other locations dedicated to Upward closings).
  • Existing Business: Candidates with an existing book of business are highly preferred.
