General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets customers, maintains a clean work area, ensures proper merchandise presentation, and follows company standards across all work centers. The role may include a range of tasks in all Store areas as business needs require, and additional tasks may be assigned to support customer service and operations goals.
Essential Functions
- Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keeps egress clear and reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; friendly and professional at all times.
- Assists Customers in merchandise questions, is register-trained, greets Customers by eye contact, smiles, says hello and thanks at checkout.
- Provides prompt responses to Customer service requests and escalates to Store Leadership when needed.
- Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors) and replenishes restroom supplies; disinfects high-touch areas to maintain store standards.
- Maintains professional appearance and adheres to dress code.
- Performs daily sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store that is merchandised to standards.
- Receives merchandise promptly and merchandises items per monthly presentation guidelines to assist Customers.
- Understands Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguards confidential information, cash and credit card information, and merchandise.
- Follows MOS policies and processes, including disposal approvals with Store Leadership.
- Performs cash-handling procedures with accuracy and efficiency; demonstrates urgency to maximize productivity.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements/Ada
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store for up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop; push/pull and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
- Stockroom roles may require lifting more than 20 pounds regularly.
