Q Works Group is hiring: Accountant in Huntersville

Overview

The Senior Accountant will play an instrumental role in building out the processes and procedures for the accounting department. This individual must build strong working partnerships across the company.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing complex work in accounting systems and related aspects of financial management including financial reporting, budget preparation and analysis, debt compliance/reconciliation, internal audit and cash management.
• Perform daily/weekly/monthly duties such as recording revenue and deferred revenue, calculate and record direct and indirect costs, make and reclass journal entries, budget variances and bank reconciliation.
• Process month-end close including: record accruals and pre-paid assets, fixed assets, AP/AR reconciliation, trial balance reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Generates all requested budgets, forecasts and supports financial planning as needed
• Works with internal financial team to provide up-to-date reporting as requested
• Ensures that the financial statements and accounting are compliant with GAAP federal guidelines, uniform guidance, best practices, and GAAP accounting standards.
• Coordinate with an outside CPA firm to comply with state, local and federal government reporting requirements

• Capable of being highly flexible as it relates to assignments, priorities, and have ability to work onsite at the Huntersville Office full-time.
• Must possess the ability to analyze, understand, and communicate on issues related to accounting, journal entries, general ledger duties for various company entities and areas of oversight, financial ratios, financial statements, systems, and processes.
• Minimal amount of supervision and must be able to independently develop data necessary for sound managerial decision making and financial reporting.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including advanced formulas, pivot tables, V-Lookups, and other advanced methods for extracting and importing information in financial systems.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
• Strong understanding of confidentiality and ability to protect confidential information.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Analytical problem solver.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related degree with additional accounting experience.
• 4+ years of accounting experience for a manufacturing or distribution company
• Strong ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities with tight deadlines.
• Experience with either SAP or Microsoft Navision
• Prior experience with international businesses that import goods to the US
